tagging as RFE for now and per backlog refinement discussion, we'll process it at the same time we'll plan a koji upgrade for cbs.centos.org.

Based on a discussion with @nphilipp , rpmautospec doesn't currently work on el8, due to missing libgit2 recent version : libgit2 is in RHEL8 AppStream but we need a newer version.

Nils suggested that rpmautospec would enter epel8 after we'll have a different libgit2 pkg (named differently at least to not conflict with the one in RHEL) and other pkgs rebuilt against/for it (and same for rpmautospec)

My latest status on this is: A scratch-build of libgit2-1.4.3 in el8 didn’t succeed because of some failing tests.

Hi @dcavalca unfortunately we (CPE) dont have the staff to work on rpmautospec right now so we are unable to look at this for CBS either. We will be turning our attention to rpmautospec next year and I would love to be able to look at the requirements that would be needed for CBS so could you please submit a request here https://pagure.io/cpe/initiatives-proposal/issues and we can look at scheduling this work formally.

@arrfab feel free to close here and we can track it as a project request in the CPE tracker.

As @nphilipp had to work on a different version of rpmautospec, it means it's now possible to have it available on cbs.centos.org.
I'm currently working on some tests in Staging env, but should be there in prod soon.
I guess you're still interested in seeing it enabled/available in CBS koji ? :-)
