#132 New Spin Banners Needed (Design, Moblin, Sugar)

Alright, this is pretty urgent. We need banners for the Design Suite [1], the Moblin Spin [2] and Sugar on a Stick [3]. Feel free to let me know if you've any questions concerning the content or topic of the spin. I'm still setting up the websites, but they're going to be up soon. The sizes we're looking for are the following (as .png files):

  • (232 x 80)
  • (120 x 45)
  • (960 x 119)

For the major banner, there's an svg file from the last release cycle with all of them living here: http://fedoraproject.org/w/uploads/8/8c/Spins-banners_all.svg

For Sugar on a Stick, it'd be awesome, if the Sugar Labs logo is going to be present, to use this color scheme: http://people.sugarlabs.org/sdz/Logo_white_yellow_orange.svg

As a last note, sorry for the late notice. I hear that we're getting into final freeze very soon - this Tuesday, by which we'd also have the content on the web pages up and kicking.

mkim has accepted this ticket and completed banners for the Moblin spin; the other two (Design, SoaS) will be done tomorrow and should go faster now that we have the workflow down.

It turns out that we can't use trademarks (such as the Moblin and Sugar Labs logos) for these banners, since the images need to be freely redistributable.

mkim created banners for Moblin, original svg source attached, png images uploaded to the spin page git repo. The tagline banner shows up on the main Moblin webpage, I'm not sure how to make the others display.

For SoaS, mizmo suggested http://www.openclipart.org as a resource, such as http://www.openclipart.org/detail/651 - fallback is relabeling the existing Education Spin banner and using that.

For the Design Spin, we will be using icons from the Tango set, such as the paintbrush/paint on http://www.openclipart.org/search/?query=tango&page=7.

Banners have been made and pushed to the live spins.fp.o site, thanks to mkim. We need to figure out a place to host the files for the next time around, but can do that later.
