Chris, sorry that you didn't get any responses to your ticket. Your concept here is great, the only thing is that the icon doesn't meet the icon design guidelines. That being said, it might not be difficult to update it to meet the guidelines. Let me know if you're interested in continuing to work on it! Otherwise I'll open the ticket for someone else to continue.

The icons have been uploaded for sizes 22x22 and 256x256. So far it looks fairly okay from here for both the sizes, so anything in between 22-256 should be a no brainer.

This is prolly the final version I like for a 16x16.

I've placed a 32-bit Fedora 16 build of 2.0.6 with the above here:

http://fedorapeople.org/~limb/vym/

It uses the 16, 22, and 256 size icons, and uses the 256 in the About dialog. I've not had a chance to check it out in GNOME 3 Shell, but it looks nice in fallback mode.

Update: Upstream wants to stick with his icon, as it's his own silhouette. I convinced him to provide me with a version with a transparent background instead. What I got was 324x290. I squared it off, preserving the whole non-transparent image, and made versions at 256x256 and all the sizes in the description above. Unless anyone objects, I'll put all these in for rawhide, and can do so for f17 if anyone wants it.
