http://fedorahosted.org/cobbler
We've recently been working on a web ui refresh for cobbler, and one of the things that was discussed was the lack of a favicon. Historically cobbler has just utilized its name as the logo:

It would be kind of kewl to have a logo to go with the refresh and to move forward with. As cobbler doesn't have a GUI other than the web interface the primary spots of the logo would be the favicon and inline on the web page. Currently the logo for the applications web interface is ~180x80px, but we aren't tied to any target size in particular.
The main thoughts on content would be something shoe related. We though just an unfinished shoe as one possibility, and another was a shoe on one of those stands with a hammer laying next to it. Not necessarily like this image, but it shows the stand I mean:

However, we aren't the artistic ones, so are open to suggestion.
As per the wikipedia the cobbler refers to A shoemaker who repairs shoes, rather than manufacturing them. Therefore we can use a shoe, hammer and nails and create a nice logo. Will try and work on this.
thanks for images and ideas, will submit a design ASAP.
Buddhika if you need help with the drawing part, let me know
This has been moved to the mailing lists and updates have been going on.

vivekjaiswal,
Back on aug 3rd i sent the following to tatica:
what I had sent yesterday was:
so.. i like to tinker with already produced images a bit (abi saw this in a mock i did of his logo at one point). so over the weekend I got with one of our web guys @dayjob who likes to play with images too and we played with the logo since we hadn't heard from anyone. (mainly cause we were waiting on scott's e-mail client to not hate him apparently).
i'm attaching two images we ended up producing.. the fuller logo and a small favicon of just the boot.
that being said, if you guys have something coming, scott and i would like the devs/users to be able to vote between. it was just a weekend messing around.
so now that you've sent something. i do have comment on it. I think it looks a bit otley, but i think the general coloring works. I, personally, and maybe scott disagrees, think that its a bit to distributed and indistinct on the colors. maybe if the wall was the yellow, the floor the brown, with the dark brown/black lines. I think the boot looks great with its coloring.
So at this point Scott and I were happy with the image output, but i want to verify that the licensing side was taking care of so that there is no concerns for the cobbler project going forward. since its abi's art, and my friend's (he's not involved in the community) cg work, how do I ensure that its licensed properly ?
