is intended to help new folks looking to contribute by giving them a channel to talk to the community.

We've already set up the irc channel (#fedora-join) and the mailing list[1]. I've filed a ticket with the websites team requesting this information be put up on the join.fp.o main page[2]. Could we have some artwork to make this more visible? I've just mentioned a banner and logo off the top of my head but I'll leave you folks to decide what it really should be :)

Hello,

I'm sorry for being this late with my reply. What details are you looking for? The join sig, as explained in the wiki link above is to help new people become part of the community. Something that says 'fun with friends at work' etc would be nice. Again, I'm not a design guy, which is why I filed the ticket :)

Would you have any ideas?

This is the rough design what I could think right now, I am open to any suggestions.
But it will be always helpful if you could give some more description about how you want it to be.

The above is the rough design which I had made as per the discussion.
Please feel free to suggest anything .

I really like the last design! Like Nitesh said, it's still rough and needs slight changes before we decide to make it final. Here are our notes from the IRC chat:

1. The newbie and the "guru" need to be distinguished more. It should be clear at a glance. Remember that the intended audience for this strip are the newbies that we hope to attract.

2. The text will need some rephrasing. I'm not still certain of what it should be. Something to think about.

3. Do double check with the logo guidelines before using the Fedora logo. Just to be sure.

4. Once done, it'll be nice if each panel is also available as a separate image (and a few different sizes) so we can place it in different places in whatever order fits best.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Thanks for working on this nitesh :)

I will certainly make the modifications in the design and will attach each design separately.

How about "We answer all your questions! Come talk to us now!" in the last panel, with stress on "all", "now"? How would that look?

Panel 2: Perfect, no changes needed.

Panel 3:

Text:

"Fedora Join SIG" in the top part.

"Chat" instead of "IRC" (newbies may not know what IRC is)

"E-mail!" instead of mailing list (same logic)

"We'll answer ALL your questions! Come talk to us NOW!" (no quotes around ALL and NOW, that changes the meaning of the sentence) "All" and "NOW" in bold would also add the required stress but I'm not sure if that'll look OK.

Looks awesome. Nothing else required. Can you please upload these on the wiki someplace, and add a link on the Fedora Join SIG page? (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Join_SIG)
