Hi all,

We need a t-shirt design for the attendee t-shirt for the new Flock Conference -- http://flocktofedora.org/

In this Brainstorm ticket, we are looking for people to submit quick designs and ideas for the flock t-shirt. (Please, no commentary on designs yet).

Please use this template as a base -- http://openclipart.org/detail/12463 -- and attach a PNG of your design to this ticket. PLease also comment in this ticket, including your image inline.

For the t-shirt design, we have a few simple requirements:
* We are able to produce a two sided t-shirt design
* Keep colours in your designs to a minimum (think 3,4,5 colour designs)
* We need some space reserved for sponsor logos (no need to put the logos in yet, just leave a space for it)
* We also need to incorporate the Fedora and Flock logo

We need to have the Design finalised by July 1 2013.

Here is a supersimple design. Just the logos on a shirt! It's kind of boring, really :)

I like the basic designs! For FUDCons, we usually used some aspect of the location. If anybody wants to try that, I'd suggest:

  • The Ravenel bridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Arthur_Ravenel_Bridge_%28from_water%29.jpg)
  • Rainbow Row (a little more challenging in fewer colors! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Row)
  • The palmetto and crescent moon (more generally representative of SC http://oldskoolmopeds.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Moped_SC-state-flag-black-and-white-Palmetto-Tree.jpg)

Also an update to the Initial Requirements, we don't need space for the sponsor logos anymore.

The bottom two in comment:6 suggest flocks of birds at the beach or on a marsh, which would be good local references. Charleston isn't far from the ocean, and we have a lot of marshes. Dark blue also references the state flag.

Had a go at a different style of design. But still going with a "Birds" type theme. (click for the bigger version)

Here are a bunch more variations on my previous idea.

I worked up a couple of ideas for shirts. Yep, more birds!

The first shirt is inspired by M.C. Escher's bird drawings, and for bonus points the shape of the birds suggests curly brackets. Y'know for coding! ;)

The second one is based on Charleston's famous iron gates. I also managed to work in the four foundations and a fun slogan. And also birds.

This isn't a shirt, but is meant to be a quick sketch of an idea for the Flock logo, which would be incorporated into a shirt (and lots of other stuff).

I decided to not use color, as the idea is to show the graphic itself.

BTW: Yes, the glyphs do need work and keming needs to be tweaked. This is just a rough, quick start. If you like it, I can tweak it. (:
