Hi,
I've created a screencast that shows the basic usage of askfedora (http://ask.fedoraproject.org). Would someone have the time to edit/polish this video? I'd like to put this up on the site itself for new users.
It's uploaded to archive.org here: http://archive.org/details/ScreencastFrom06102013065846PM
The screencast is very very basic. If you want me to include more stuff, please let me know and I can re-record it. For reference, this is what stackoverflow has: http://stackoverflow.com/about. This is what askbot has by default, and we haven't edited it yet: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/help/
It'd be great if someone from the design team who's used askfedora for a bit could work on this. That way, you'd know what needs to be put in the video and how it should be structured etc.
Thanks, Warm regards, Ankur
Hi Ankur, Thanks for your efforts. I was editing the video and was having one query is it possible to remove certain parts of the video as right now the video is over 8 minutes. Although I had removed the parts where the delay comes when page is been loaded, but still its coming up to around over 6 minutes. It will be great if we can reduce the length to less than 5 minutes(if possible).

Hi Nitesh,
As I said in the initial description, the video needs to cover most of the things that can be done at Ask Fedora. It's bound to be long. You can break it up into smaller videos if you want, that will cover various aspects of Ask Fedora. For instance,
It's because of this that I requested someone who has used Ask Fedora to work on this. The task isn't just editing the video I put up, it's about making a series of videos that can help folks looking for information on Ask Fedora. Can you maybe use Ask Fedora for a while to get a better idea of how it works, what features it has and then revisit this ticket if you're still up to it?
Ultimately, one large video or a set of smaller videos is a design decision. However, to be able to make that decision, one must have an idea of how Ask Fedora works.
Thanks, Ankur
Hi Ankur, Thanks for your comment. It is indeed a good idea if someone who is more familiar to ask Fedora can do this. Although it will be a bit difficult for me to do so right now.
Thanks
Hey! I might be able to give a hand with it. I will start working on this ticket, however, contact me for more details ASAP. My irc handle is tatica.
Hello!
I uploaded the video to: archive.org/details/ask_fedoraproject
For some weird reason the player isn't working, but once the video is downloaded works perfect. If you guys can download it and let me know if there is any change needed would be great.
If everything is OK; let's upload it to the official channels (Vimeo, Youtube, etc) and link me so I can spread it a bit.
Hope you find it useful!

I downloaded it and had a look. It's awesome! I don't think it could've been any better :D
It also seems to stream OK from archive.org now, Both the html5 and the flash versions. It's really slow though.
Can you please edit the video details and add the "fedora" tag? I think the fedora videos account on planet.fp.o subscribes to a feed from archive.org, and it'll show up on the planet that way.
Do you think we need subtitles and translations? I think the archive.org player does have support. Not sure about vimeo etc.
Once we've uploaded it, we should pass this on to the marketing team who can maybe feature it on fedoramagazine too?
Thanks a bunch for working on this tatica!
Warm regards, Ankur
The video is complete and up! Thanks tatica, nitesh!
Closing.
