We need signage for the rooms at Flock 2016 as well as a sign for the registration desk.

The latest room names are on sched.org (The list of room names is available here: https://flock2016.sched.org/venues/); as of right now here is the full list of room signs we need:

  • Canaletto
  • Chelmonski
  • Picasso (Main Room)
  • Matejko
  • Monet
  • openQA
  • Registration

  • Deadline for design to be sent to printer

We should aim to have these done by Friday, July 8.

  • Deadline for items to be shipped and ready to hand out

They need to be in hand in Krakow on August 1, 2016.

  • If you can, please provide us with example photos of items that are similar to the result you're looking for

oh i think that's neat! i like it a lot! and there's space in the lower right that maybe we could put the illustration being used for the T-shirt on. can you keep that space open ish for the other signs, and we'll pop the illustration in when it's ready?

Yeah that's a good idea. I guess it's probably best to wait till shirts are close to finished before going any further.

Hi Micah!

We have the basic elements for the t-shirt done -

One thing that will change is we're removing the outlines from the flyers.

So here are some suggestions for the sign design we came up with as reviewing it in the design meeting today:

  • can you replace the 'flock' text with the flock logo? (can snag it from the T-shirt design)
  • maybe replace the stripes with the Polish floral pattern? see if you can work the building into the corner? (it's a tower from Wawel castle)

Unassigned as I will unfortunately be AFK for a few days and will miss the deadline. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I can start adding hints of the shirt's design to Micah's current sign since I've got the all the shirt docs? I'll post some roughs soon here since the deadline close

Here's a couple quick ways that the floral pattern from the shirt could be incorporated

just attached some updated versions of the signs (a bit more consistent to the blues and greys in the other Flock stuff; hopefully these gets us a little bit closer to the look we're going for!

Hi Mary! These look good! I would just pump up the name of the room as big as you can fit in the design - we want people to be able to read the room name from far away so when they're looking for a talk it's easier to see!

just updates the signs, the newest ones end in "_3.png" and i was under the impression that "Registration" was staying the same?

Can you upload the latest SVGs for each of these? I opened up some in Scribus and they look a bit off... I want to try to re-export to PDF and see if they can be adjusted.
