[https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=518007 Bug #518007] is that system-config-printer-applet could do with a better notification area status icon in this situation: A printer has been plugged in for which we do not have a queue configured, and we are configuring one.
This can take up to a minute in some situations.
At the moment I'm using document-print-preview for this.

Mail Excerpt:
Hi Tim,
I noticed that you filed Fedora Design Team ticket # 68 about two years ago, (https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/68). Unfortunately nobody was assigned to the ticket and therefore there's been no activity whatsoever. Could you please tell me if you're still interested in this request so I can push it forward to the Mailing Lists and see if we can find a designer for you. If you are no longer interested in having the ticket filled, please let us know that as well, and we'll be happy to close the ticket for you.
Thanks
Abi
Tim wasn't interested in the request anymore. There it's been closed.
