#680 Fedora Budget Reports template
Closed: Fixed by smeragoel. Opened by smeragoel.

phenomenon

A template for the Fedora yearly and quarterly budget reports

reason

The Fedora Project needs accurate and easy to produce reports on our budget. A template will allow anyone to complete this task in the future. Currently, the Fedora Budget website requires you to manually enter the data (the script doesn't always work), so it'd be easier to have a template where you can just enter the data

recommendation

The template should be consistent with Fedora branding, and should have a modern and slick look.

A couple of working designs. I'm just trying out a few different things to see what works. The charts are of course not accurate, just for representation.

Heya @smeragoel this looks great!

Here are a couple notes for the next revision
- Add in the fedora logo
- Add in a "footer" like the top of the page
- Change heading to " THE FEDORA PROJECT - ANNUAL BUDGET REPORT"
- Make text in pie graphs larger "lorem ipsum" (the numbers are large enough), or maybe even drop the text below the circles
- There is something odd about the "Percent Spent" text being right next to the text on the left that is so small. Maybe it could fixed with some alignment? Maybe use a light text for the heading instead of bold? You could try adding a graphic element as well.

Look forward to your revisions!

@smeragoel These are amazing - so slick! Sorry to chime in late - I think I'd just nudge the heading text and logo to haelve a bit more breathing space between them. I don't remember the exact value for logo clearspace (its in https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo/UsageGuidelines) but I am fairly sure theres not enough in these
I also think the gradient bar at the bottom is maybe a bit distracting... having it on top focuses your attention to the most important thing in the hierarchy - the doc title. But then your eyes get drawn to the footer and theres not anything there so it seems weird. I'd either do a gradiated thin line along the bottom for balance w the top and make the top one much heavier or just drop. But I def defer to @riecatnors opinion here.

I really love the look and feel here, it is super Fedora and very clean! This is amazing work!

@duffy thanks for chiming in :D

@smeragoel I'd say try thinning the bottom line out! If it's still too distracting you could try a solid color too.

@duffy thanks for bringing the clearspace issue to my notice! I've fixed that now. I've also changed the bottom bar a bit. What do you think of it now?

@riecatnor Reduced the height :D Tried it with a solid colour, but that was more distracting than before so sticking to gradient.

Hello @smeragoel ,
Based on @riecatnor suggestion, here is three modified versions of your concept with thinner line.

@smeragoel @luya I think a combo of these two would be perfection :D

I like the top bar from @smeragoel and all the bottom bar options from @luya. @smeragoel want to merge those and upload a new draft? Thanks!!

@luya thanks for helping out!

@riecatnor I merged both the designs and here's the final result!
