So, we have 2 people who found this bug and even a PR that shows that this seems to truly be a bug in gnome-control-center. According to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_33_Beta_Release_Criteria#Printing this is a blocker (unless we can find someone who can add a printer and print without hitting this).

BetaBlocker +1

BetaBlocker -1

It's functional with a workaround. I'd block Final on it though.

BetaBklocker -1 (But we need to document the workaround)
BetaFE +1
FinalBlocker +1

BetaBlocker -1
BetaFE +1
FinalBlocker +1

Also, I personally don't hit this issue with the remote printer I just tried with, so we're not actually in violation of the Beta criterion (since it only requires at least one printer is usable).

BetaFE -1
FinalBlocker +1

@sgallagh can print, therefore

@mohanboddu That doesn't count. It has a typo and also nothing else must be present on the line. Just to let you know :)

FinalBlocker -1

@sgallagh can print, the final release criterion[0] contains the same "at least one printer" verbiage as Beta, and doesn't cover selecting a PPD at all.

[0] - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_33_Final_Release_Criteria#Printing

@nielsenb That is true, however, in Final we also have:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_33_Final_Release_Criteria#Default_application_functionality
where gnome-control-center is an app covered by this and it clearly doesn't work correctly. The question remains whether we classify this as a basic functionality for gnome-control-center.

Resetting BetaFE votes because Beta is already Go and the vote makes no sense now:
REVOTE BetaFE

My vote is based on the criterion that Gnome Settings needs to have basic functionality.

FinalBlocker +1

I changed my vote based on the basic functionality criteria.

AGREED AcceptedFinalBlocker

Discussed during the 2020-09-28 blocker review meeting: [0]

The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedBlocker (Final)" was made as it violates the following criterion:

"Printing must work in release-blocking desktops on at least one printer available to those performing validation testing."

That's not the correct criterion, though, see here.
