The decision to delay the classification of this as a blocker bug was made as we do not want to accept this for a candidate to be built in the next day or two for release next week. That timeframe is too tight without any significant justification to pull in this update (and initial results from openQA suggesting it may cause at least one problem). We will reconsider this if the Beta release slips and we have more definite testing results by then.

If we're going to put this in I'd like to see an update built and tested over the weekend. Also https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2268648 should be a hard blocker for this.

No compelling reason given other than "we'd like it". Easy 0 day. I would love to see it more tested, but since there's already known breakage I'd rather just hold off.

BetaFE -1

As @adamwill said, better not ship beta iso with this without first fix the other bug.
so for now:
BetaFE -1

As the things changed, I think it's now a good idea to ship it.

BetaFE +1

I'd be:
BetaFE +1
to maybe try a quick 1.8 compose with this in it, before the new week begins.

The new week has begun and I do not see any other iso, just the 1.7. A huge FE like this could easily introduce problems that we will not be able to fix soon enough.

BetaFE -1

AGREED AcceptedBetaFE

Discussed during the 2024-03-18 blocker review meeting [1]:

it fixes a large number of crashers and other bugs, it has solid feedback so far, and seems to be passing openQA's distribution tests in Rawhide. We intend to pull it into a candidate compose (assuming there is another) without pushing it stable first, so it can easily be reverted if necessary
