Unless there are some other apps affected by this, Thunderbird alone can't block a release.

In the upstream issue, also hexchat is mentioned as a trigger. But for the moment, this doesn't seem to be serious enough for Beta, and we have no reports of the default apps being affected.

BetaBlocker -1

But we should track this and propose as Final, if we see more crash reports related to more apps.

I have also proposed a similar one for final.

I will propose it as Final. @lruzicka I don't think your crash is the same, backtraces look pretty different.

I'm not seeing anything stopping installation or from installing a 0 day update.

FWIW, it seems that exiting several games also causes the entire gnome-session to crash taking all other apps with it. see:

I'm not 100% sure these have the same root cause, but that does seem likely.

FinalBlocker -1

Because this crash is specific to X11, which is not used by default.

That one is discussed in https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review/issue/1497

That's definitely not the case. I reproduced the crash using Thunderbird on Wayland.

Hm yes...
