Discussed at a blocker review meeting [1], agreed on the following:
AcceptedFreezeException (Final), punt (delay decision) on blocker status - this is fairly new and reproduction is inconsistent across testers and systems so far. We will delay the decision for further investigation. It is accepted as a freeze exception issue, though, as it's at least bad enough that we should fix it before release if possible

So this is a tricky one. It seems to be heavily tied to performance, so I think we're mainly seeing it in openQA and VM testing because of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2312900 . Assuming we fix that as an FE (which seems likely to happen), I suspect this will become much harder to hit, and probably not worth blocking on. So I think I'm inclined to 'punt' on it until we get the 2312900 fix in, then re-evaluate this.
We're at a point where (at least with hardware I have available), software video acceleration isn't enough for a good KDE / Gnome experience (I can't use Gnome in Boxes without enabling 3D acceleration due to weird keypress duplication issues for instance, KDE is usable but unpleasantly slow).
While these applications should work without 3D acceleration in a VM, I wouldn't ultimately block on it in a "last blocker" situation.

Well, I have another experience. Gnome usually works relatively ok in a non-accelerated VM, I am not experiencing too much of slowness or key repetitions. This is however not the same with KDE which has become greedy and the VM performance is a real problem for testing.
So, although I could be convinced to waive this as a last blocker, I would like this to be fixed if there are other blockers on the way.

Discussed during the 2024-10-21 blocker review meeting [1]:
This seems to be pretty much entirely mitigated by the fix for KDE performance under software acceleration (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2312900 ). there probably is still technically a bug here, and upstream is working on it, but it doesn't seem like we need to rush to pull it in for release.

Well not sure what to say at this point. Cant repro the issue. Not seeing any performance issues either.
Host Fedora 41 KDE and boxes for my VM's have been fine so far.
