A quick example: BetaBlocker +1 (where the tracker name is one of BetaBlocker/FinalBlocker/BetaFE/FinalFE/0Day/PreviousRelease and the vote is one of +1/0/-1)

This feels like it could be fixed in a post release update.

FinalFE -1

So, if we voted for a mesa upgrade to FE status, why don't vote for this here too?
As Said by the dev: " This backports an upstream bugfix for muvm which resolves intermittent failures when using the FEX emulation stack and is needed for Changes/FEX to work reliably on 16k page systems (such as Apple Silicon Macs running Fedora Asahi Remix)."

FinalFE +1

well, mesa bugs are more likely to make a bad impression out of the box on live boots. Asahi doesn't even have live media, right? seems like it'd be perfectly safe to fix this with a 0-day update, and folks installing Asahi on release day would get it...

Fedora Asahi Remix doesn't have live media -- the installation process lays a prebuilt disk image on the system. If the package isn't in stable by the release date, it won't be included in the disk image, so folks won't get it unless they do a dnf update afterwards.

FinalFE -1

My rationale: I'm not sure it is fixing any critical bugs. IIUC, the reporter was getting an error when launching the Steam gaming platform: https://github.com/AsahiLinux/muvm/pull/162. Based on my parsing of the criteria, this Asahi rust-muvm fix doesn't quite qualify for it.

Discussed during the 2025-04-07 blocker review meeting [1]:

  • AGREED: 2357704 - Accepted FinalFreezeException - This seems helpful for Asahi and doesn't seem to affect our release blocking images, and so we approve this request.
