I think this is similar to #1974. The cited criterion is not a good match, but it might be sufficient. Or we should create a new one talking about i18n and keyboard layouts.

There is already a keyboard layout criterion, but it doesn't exactly cover this. Kind of intentionally, because we have never actually had a very good experience with layouts / input methods and the live installers. This is worse than it used to be, though.

I'm kinda on the fence about whether it's a blocker, call me 0.5 maybe...

Yup, feels close enough to the accepted #1974 to me.

I'm not sure if a typing "booster" qualifies as a blocker

AGREED RejectedFinalBlocker

Discussed at the 2025-10-13 (blocker / freeze exception) review meeting:

The typing booster doesn't seem necessary to complete an installation, users can pick a different keyboard layout. If this is not the case, please propose again.

AGREED AcceptedFinalFreezeException

After extensive analysis we agreed that, while the current state is pretty unfortunate, Workstation is no worse than F42 and KDE is manageably awkward. We accept it as an FE so we could potentially land improved error messages and possibly well-tested improvements if there's a one week slip.
