A quick example: BetaBlocker +1 (where the tracker name is one of BetaBlocker/FinalBlocker/BetaFE/FinalFE/0Day/PreviousRelease and the vote is one of +1/0/-1)

If this was just a graphical glitch where the app is listed as "pending" instead of "installed", but it doesn't have any negative effect, I'd be FinalBlocker -1. The basic functionality (installation) would work, just the representation would be mildly incorrect, but harmless. If there was some other negative consequence to this bug, I'd reconsider. I asked in the bug for clarification.

AGREED RejectedFinalBlocker

Discussed during the 2021-10-11 blocker review meeting: [0]

The decision to classify this bug as a "RejectedBlocker (Final)" was made as no practical consequences of this have been identified, we agreed it's not really significant enough to count as a failure of "basic functionality", and so it does not meet the blocker criteria.

I know this is not nominated for blocker, but this is basic functionality failure for the software center. It's just too embarrassing for us to release with a software center that does not know whether an application in installed or not.

FinalFE +1

This doesn't seem like something users would do on a live image, so it could be fixed in an update. But if a fix is available before release, we might as well include it for those doing a fresh install.

I'm sympathetic, but at the same time the patch for this seems relatively big. Does the bug actually have some impact beyond the purely aesthetic "it shows the wrong status"? Is fixing that really worth the risk of a substantial patch in the last few days before release?

Well yeah, it turns app installation into a Hotel California situation. Can't remove the app unless you know how to manually SIGKILL gnome-software, because gnome-software thinks the app is still being installed.

The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedFreezeException (Final)" was made as it is a noticeable issue that cannot be fixed with an update.
