Just displaying a search item twice is probably not enough to break a basic functionality, I think. Yes, it's a glitch, but it doesn't prevent you from achieving your goals - finding an event.
For the moment: FinalBlocker -1
I agree with @kparal here. Although the entry is displayed twice, both of the links point to the correct event so the functionality is not really broken here.
Also, deleting the widget after the last character of the search term has been deleting might be presented as a "feature" if your intention is not to search again. We could argue whether the behaviour should be this or that, but again this does not seem blockery to me.
