I'm not sure if it's a good idea to revert upstream's decision, but if the PR gets accepted, I have no problems to push it through the freeze.
Note though, that people won't game on live images, and their installed systems will get updates, so this would only affect people who install games on a freshly installed non-updated Fedora. Still, for the PR purposes (reviewers might do exactly this), I think it's good to have patched glibc right on the install media.
