Seems to violate https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_37_Final_Release_Criteria#'Basic_graphics_mode'_boot_mode_behavior

Anyone else was able to reproduce this bug? I wasn't.

That said, I'm inclined to waive this at Go/No-Go under the "late blocker" and "can be fixed with an update" excuses.

Ok, with further testing I managed to reproduce this, and Adam too.

The most common use case of the "basic graphics mode" is to be used during installation, before you can update/install/tweak drivers, kernel, etc. So a future update is of a very limited use.

Of course there seems to be a workaround available, which can be documented, but unaware users are unlikely to figure it out on their own.

I am inclined to waive this too, if you're trying nomodeset/Basic video driver, you probably could try the one and only other option related to video...

Also, this affects just our KDE spin, not the Workstation "flagship".

Sigh.

FinalBlocker +1

Agree it should be waived as late.

FinalBlocker +1
This should be waived as late.

AGREED AcceptedFinalBlocker

any decision about waiving would be made at the go/no-go meeting tomorrow if necessary.
